and make it into a star,

This past weekend I went to Camp Wood Haven Girl Scout Camp with the Brownies and my Emily. We had a great time. The theme of our weekend was Thanksgiving. So we did Thanksgiving crafts and made a Thanksgiving feast with help from the girls. We made corn cob lanterns, by recycling and re-using water bottles and Gatorade bottles along with tissue paper. The weekend was packed full of activities for the girls including 2 science try-it's. Another parent planned out all of the science experiments, they were great. The girls also went on a short hike, but I couldn't go because of my injured foot. So I drove down and met them at the end. While I waiting for them to return I walked around a small area and got some great shots. I had just as much fun editing them as I did taking them. When we returned to the cabin we finished preparing dinner and set the table with white table clothes and lined the center of the tables with the corn lanterns that the girls made. Now,
So, it's my birthday, the "BIG 40." The actual day a lot less exciting than my surprise party last weekend. This morning is actually like other Saturday mornings. I read the paper and watched the Today Show while having my coffee in my favorite coffee cup and had a yummy breakfast made by Ken. Then off on a mad rush to BJ's, home to pack and off for a relaxing weekend, disconnected at Indian Lake in the Adirondack's. Today my son Alex gave me a heart shaped rock which he found on Scout Island. I love it! I know how much he loves me when he thinks of me when we're apart. I love you.
For years my husband had been telling me I should find a way to share what I do as a Girl Scout Leader. In 2017 I started another blog called "One Leaders Guide to Scouting," today I am transfering it over to my artsyBE blog and will be labeled "Scouting." I will continue sharing my scouting experiences and ideas, Girl Scout, Cub Scout and Boy Scout. As a parent of both girls and boys and being involved in both organizations I felt that I couldn't just say Girl Scout even though my days in Boy Scouts have ended since my son is an Eagle Scout now. I am always drawing on my knowledge and experiences from Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts when I am doing things for Girl Scouts. I believe that's how it should be. Robert Baden-Powell and Juliette Gordon Low were friends and shared ideas, that's how Girl Scouts was started here in the United States. I hope that people will find my other blog useful.
